H.Y. Livesay travelled to Midway for four games of basketball, November 16 and came away with four wins. The first game was the junior varsity girls contest and the Lady Eagles won 28-1. Leading the way in scoring for HY was Ava Fuson with 10. Amillya Smith had eight, Allie Owens had six and Peyton Owens had four. Natalie Fraley scored Midway’s only point.
Game two of four featured the JV boys. HY won it 32-3. Koalton Cupp led with 14, Jacob Tinnel had nine, Noah Fultz dropped in six and Casen Adams had three. Dylan Murray had two to lead the Red Devils and Noah Burke finished with a single point.
The Lady Eagles varsity girls played great against the Lady Red Devils as they ran away to a 51-3 victory behind the scoring of Brinkley Hollin with 16 and Jayla Bailey with 12. Jaylee Hayes had nine, Allie Fortner had five, Izzy Helton had four, Janna Middleton and Morgan Martin both had two points and the total was completed with Abby Peters single point.
The Varsity boys game was much closer as Midway played well but fell to the Eagles 44-40. With Jerimiah Russell filling in for Coach Shawn Smith, the Eagles turned a four point deficit at the half into a four point win. Leading the way for the Eagles was Brady Harris with 13. Kole Carter had 12, Jed Bailey had nine, Johnny Wilder had eight and Neil Bunch had two. The Red Devils were led by Kaden Williams with a game leading 14 points. gage ray had 10, Braedon Bennett had nine, Jeffrey Holt had five and Dizel Ford had two.
