The H.Y. Livesay Eagles defeated Powell Valley, January 22 during the semi-final round of the district tournament. The final score was 41-29.

Kolton Goins had 15 for the Indians and Colby Weaver added nine. Braydon Boyd had three and the total was completed by Braden Lane with two points.
Eagles head coach Shawn Smith provided this quote about the game and his players, “We had great energy from the opening tip and it made a difference. They made a run at us in the third quarter but our experience in those situations carried us down the stretch.”
Smith added, “The thing I enjoy most about this team is it’s someone different showing up every night. This is the most balanced team I’ve coached. We had so many different guys step up last night. Jonny Wilder doesn’t show up in the stat sheet but his presence and play this season allowed others to get the opportunities they did in this game. The game plan was to not allow him to have anything easy. He trusted his teammates and I’m so proud of him. His energy in timeouts and the locker room was incredible.”
The Eagles will play Hancock County for the district championship.
