Gary Harmon was told little white lies by family and friends to get him to attend the March 10, School Board meeting at Cumberland Gap High School. Mr. Harmon was surprised to find out that it was actually him being honored.
A plaque was read with these words, “In recognition of Mr. Gary Harmon for the influence on the lives of many children and parents as a volunteer and as a professional by modeling morals and values both academically and socially, we wish to honor you and your 50 years of service as a friend, leader, teacher and coach.”
Dr. Linda Keck Claiborne County Director of Schools presented the plaque to Mr. Harmon in front of his former players, fellow coaches and family. Below are a few photos from the meeting.
