Claiborne High School soccer player, Mollie Bolton, has made her decision to continue her education and soccer career at Bluefield University in Virginia. Rams Athletics are affiliated with the NAIA, Mid-South and the Appalachian Athletic Conferences.
The Zone asked Mollie about her decision to attend Bluefield and she said, “Bluefield University has an amazing sense of family and a very happy atmosphere.”
When asked about her major and future job plans she added, My major is going to be pre-med and I am wanting to be an athletic trainer.”
When asked if she would like to thank anyone for helping her reach her goal of college soccer she gave this reply, I want to thank all of my coaches throughout the years for teaching me everything I know about the sport.”
Of course playing sports there are always ups and downs, favorite memories and ones players would like to forget, “My favorite memory at CHS is making school history by being the district champs for the first time. My least favorite memory at CHS was not being able to play with Courtney and Macie for the first time in 10 years.”
Mollie is set to play center mid position at Bluefield.
Her Lady Bulldogs stats include 65 games played, 75 points, 23 goals, 165 shots and 29 assists.
Her high school coach Jeff Sorke said this about Mollie, “Mollie has been a varsity player at Claiborne High School all four years and has scored 23 goals and had 29 assists. She has been an integral part of helping to build the Lady Bulldogs into a District Championship team. Her play in the midfield helped to make Claiborne a hard team to defend with her key passing ability and free-kick ability giving opposing teams problems. She also filled in as forward multiple times and did an outstanding job.
Mollie was selected All-District and All-Region for 2021 season.”
Mollie’s parents are Kim and Scott Bolton.
Congratulations Mollie Bolton from The Zone.
