Panthers head basketball coach Ryan Whitaker was named Cumberland Gap Athletic Director last week. Whitaker will serve as both coach and AD. Jeff Sziksai has agreed to take a PE teaching job as well as other athletic duties at Pineville High School, Kentucky.
Sziksai offered this statement, “I appreciate David Hamilton for giving me the opportunity to work at Cumberland Gap High School. There are a lot of really good people at The Gap, and the students there are fantastic. I’m also grateful to Mr. Thompson, Mrs. McDermott, and Mr. Frazier for the tremendous opportunity at Pineville High School, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds!”
Ryan Whitaker also spoke about his new endeavor, “I am thankful for Mr. Hamilton, the administrative staff and faculty for providing me with this opportunity to serve as Athletic Director at CGHS.
Our athletic department has seen tremendous development the past two years and I hope to continue that progress. I look forward to serving the student athletes and coaches at Cumberland Gap! We are CG!”
