Cumberland Gap made the trip to York Institute, November 4, to play in the first round of the 2022 football playoffs. Coming in with a lesser than expected team due to injuries the Panthers knew what they were up against.
York quickly jumped out front and led at the half and went on to win 60-8.
The only Cumberland Gap score of the night happened in the final quarter. Kyle Figueroa scored with 5:17 left and Jacob brown caught the two-point conversion pass.
With the loss, the Panthers season ended with a big “what if ” they hadn’t suffered through key injuries.
