Reader’s Choice Team of the Year
Claiborne County Sports Zone had already picked this team as the Sycamore Creek Construction & Renovation Team of the Year but it was time for the readers of our website to pick their favorite.
The Sycamore Creek Construction & Renovation 2022-23 Reader’s Choice Team of the Year was overwhelmingly the Cumberland Gap Lady Panthers soccer team. This team showcased what is capable of local sports teams if the coaching is there, the players buy in and there’s a great feeder team in place. They fell just short of their ultimate goal, but they accomplished a lot. They ran through the regular season, district tournament and region making it all the way to the state championship game.
The Team members included: Chloe Miracle, Bella Watson, Kedra Hare, Katie Lawson, Lizzie Figueroa, Jenna Younts, Carlie Napier, Lexie Weaver, Gracyn Raby, Makinley Miracle, Alana Stallworth, Abigail Booth, Abby Welch, Pierce Taylor, Hailey Smallwood, Brianna Goins, Nevaeh Collins, Monserrat Cristobal, Breanna Mason, Kayden Ramsey, Allyson Brock, Aftan Payne, Abbie Mayfield, Natalie Johnson, Aly Ramsey, Kara Ramsey and Gina Gomez. They were coached by Lorri Kimbrough, Kristen Napier, Jesee Kimbrough, Rachel Kimbrough and the AT was Mara Brock. They were managed by Von Orr.
