October 2- Claiborne High School Volleyball entered the 2023 District Tournament with high hopes after playing well at season’s end. Still, the youth of the team and lack of big-match tournament experience was likely a hinderance as they took Cherokee to four sets.
Coach Todd Daughtery had this to say about his team, “We went four sets with Cherokee and lost in the fourth. The team battled hard and looked like the better team for a large portion of the night, which is incredible in itself, but our young age and inexperience caught up with us. We couldn’t maintain consistency when it mattered down the stretch.”
Daughtery went on to say, ” We’re already aching for next season. This team is going to be something special.”
