October 26- Claiborne High School bused its football team to Pigeon Forge to battle the Tigers. This game was a rare Thursday night game and was also the final one of the 2023 season. Claiborne was fresh off a victory against rival Cumberland Gap and was looking to win another one versus the one-win Tigers. Claiborne was able to push one score in during the opening quarter. Cole Jones escaped the defense and traveled over 30 yards for the Bulldog’s one and only touchdown. The point after by Aden Roark was good, but the Tigers controlled the momentum of the game and won their second game of the season by the final score of 30-7.
The Bulldogs ended their season with three wins. Claiborne played strong in several other games this season, but the wins just didn’t happen. Football Thursday was brought to you by Whitaker Insurance Agency.
