Lady Bulldogs fall to Gibbs in straight sets.

September 17- Claiborne High School hosted Gibbs High for a night of volleyball. Claiborne knew coming into this match that the Lady Eagles would be a test of how far the program has evolved. The Lady Eagles, behind the strength of Ella Brannan, took the first set by a final score of 25-11. Gibbs took set two by the final of 25-13 and although Claiborne took Gibbs to the limit in the deciding set, the Lady Bulldogs fell 25-20. It was a three-set match win for a very good Lady Eagles volleyball team. Also playing well for Gibbs were Maddie Whaley, Jadyn Parker, Peyton Hargis, Olivia Lawson and others. Claiborne had good performances from Maci Short, Jacey Ferguson, Emily Buchannan, Emily Widner, Kinley Mullins and others. Claiborne’s Maci Short played well enough to earn the Commercial Bank player of the Game honor. Short blocked several shots even a few from Brannan.
