Lady Mavericks defeat Lady Panthers

April 3- The 13-6 Anderson County Lady Mavericks came into a gusty Cumberland Gap and took away a 10-0 victory. The Lady Mavs took control early as they plated six runs in the top of the first. Cumberland Gap went down in order to complete the first inning. Anderson left two on the base pads during the second, but the Lady Panthers once again were three up and three down. The Lady Mavs added another run in the top of the third while Madison Medley hit the Panther’s first base hit of the game; however, she was left on base. The score after three innings was 7-0.

The eighth run for Anderson came in the top of the fourth. In the Lady Panthers half of the inning, Maddie Stevens singled but she was also left on the base pad. In the top of the fifth, Anderson scored two more making the scoreboard read 10-0. That put Cumberland Gap in a must score situation to avoid the run rule. The team couldn’t get that timely hit and lost 10-0 to a good Lady Maverick team.
