July 13- Claiborne High School Bulldogs baseball battled “The Law” during a benefit, single coach pitch, baseball game and fell 17-12. The Bulldogs had defeated the LEO’s a few times earlier, once in the first benefit game and a few times in scrimmages: however, the LEO’s were determined to get some revenge.
Before the game, it was announced that they would apply The Savannah Bananas rules and if a fan caught a foul ball, it would be recorded as an out. In fact, it actually happened once in the game where a fan recorded an out while the Bulldogs were at bat. The LEO’s also said there would be no base stealing because stealing is wrong. This was a hinderance to the much younger and faster Bulldogs.
The game began with a prayer and was very competitive until Jason Pabon (former LMU baseball player) of “The Law” smashed a three-run home run over the left field fence. The homer gave the LEO’S a 17-12 advantage which couldn’t be overcome by the Bulldogs. You may view the entire game replay on our Facebook page courtesy of our team of marketing partners.
