Pigeon Forge wins both varsity games at Claiborne High

February 6- Pigeon Forge made the trip into Claiborne County for two games of varsity basketball and returned home with two wins.

The first game was the varsity girls and Claiborne led 15-14 after one period of play. The Lady tigers simply won the next three periods and behind Ashlyn Finch and Makaylee Stalcup’s 19 and 18-points respectively won the game 63-54. Mia Woodrick also scored double figures with 11. Jacey Ferguson led Claiborne with 16 followed closely by Emma Ferguson with 14. Tayleigh Stansberry and Emily Buchanan both scored eight. Maci Short had three, and Hope Cole had two.

The boys were up next, and Pigeon Forge led start to finish. A strong 21-9 first period propelled the visiting Tigers to a 79-67 win over a Bulldogs team that wouldn’t quit but ran out of energy down the stretch. Chris Fudger led all scorers with 31 points. Kaden Gasparro also reached double figures with 17 and Bryson Morrisette had 13. Kris Ford led the Bulldogs with 21 and Drew Epperson also scored double figures with 17. Robby Wilmoth scored nine, Kaden Williams had eight, Conner King had six, Chace Robinette sored four, and Corbin Whitaker had two. * All scores are unofficial please consult team book.
