June 24th –
The New Tazewell coach pitch All Star team traveled to Bean Station city park to face their neighbors from Union County in the first round of all star playoffs.
The first two innings was all Union County as they piled on seven runs while New Tazewell only managed to put two runs on the board. After shaking off the big game nerves, the New Tazewell team rallied to have a huge five run 3rd inning.
However, a red hot Union County team wasn’t done yet, they came right back and put up five runs of their own.
Going into the bottom of the fifth inning, New Tazewell was down 13 -9 but the players showed what they were made of with another huge five run inning putting them in the lead 14-13.
They held Union County scoreless in the sixth inning to secure the win. It was a great game by both teams.
The New Tazewell team will face a hot Grainger team June 25 at 7:30 at Bean Station City Park.
