September 14- Springdale’s Lady Owls faced Jellico in a key district volleyball matchup at their home away from home, Claiborne High School. The Lady Blue Devils took the court first against Springdale’s junior varsity, claiming the opening set 25-22. Springdale bounced back with a dominant 25-10 win in set two, but Jellico came out strong in the deciding set, taking it 15-10 to win the match 2-1. Right after the JV match, the varsity team recognized their six eighth graders. The varsity Lady Owls had a slow start but quickly found their rhythm, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-10 and 25-13.
