Justin Cox and members of his softball team and others have been conducting the youth camp. The camp focuses on the fundamentals, breaking each at bat down, fielding, physical fitness and having fun. The goal is to build more interest in the sport of softball especially at younger ages.
Cox spoke about the goals of the camp, “We are mainly focused on the fundamentals and having fun while trying to get a few more girls interested in giving the sport a try. It seems like there is less interest now in softball and other sports for that matter. I want to see that change, I want kids to get out there and play sports again. We want to show them that its still fun to play.”
Coach Cox wanted to take a moment to thanks the campers and the volunteers including:
Campers: Addison Van Huss, Natalie Fraley, Kerrigan Watson, Lailah Nunn, Tayleigh Stansbury, Madison Johnson, Marley Sweet, Jacey Ferguson, Jaylen Pressnell and Jaylee Hayes.
