The Claiborne Bulldogs junior varsity baseball team competed and finished as champions, May 1.
They are a young but talented team who played Grainger in the first game.
Claiborne won 6-3 and Joe Houser got the win on the mound. Conner Adkins came in to close the game pitching during the sixth and seventh innings.
West Greene and Chuckey-Doak played in the second game. West Greene won then West Greene and Cumberland Gap played the third game. West Greene won that game as well.
During the championship game it was Claiborne vs West Greene.
Claiborne won 14-8. Conner Adkins started the game and Zach Bailey came into the game as the closer.
The Bulldogs JV roster included Conner Adkins, Zack Bailey, Joe Houser, Brady Hamlin, Derek Maze, Evan Thomas, Stephen Thomas, Lane Bunch, Jason Green, Josh Cinnamon and C J Cox.
They are coached by Kyle Wentz, Matt Bussell, Jerry Myatt and Stephen Foster.
