Cumberland Gap splits varsity wins against Union County

Cumberland Gap hosted Union County, January 20. The girls were victorious while the boys were not so fortunate.

The Lady Panthers took the court and played very well. They led at the half, 37-11 and went on to win 66-29. The scoring book had Kylie Fultz leading the team with 17 points and seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Emrey Glover had 15 points, Abbie Fultz had 13 points and Brynlee Foster had 11. Jaden Brock scored five, Callie Hoskins and Hayden Beeler had two each and Gracie Nash scored one point. Kelsey Holt and Makayla Cooper led Union in scoring, both had eight.

The Panthers game didn’t go as smoothly. Cumberland Gap got behind 30-11 by the half and lost by 20, 55-35. Hyrum Hinkley once again led the Panthers in scoring with 12. Gavin Owens and Aiden Jackson both had seven points. Lance Owens had four, Trace Provins and Isaac Brown had two each and Ethan Powell had a single point. The Patriots were led by Eli Edds with 12 points.
