Powell Valley and Springdale met in a girl’s game during the district tournament, January 20. The Lady Owls led big at the half, 24-5, and went on to win 31-8. Leading Springdale was Jacey Ferguson with nine, Avalyn Cook and Hope Cole had six, Chloe Cupp had five, Gracie Cupp had four and Olivia Rowland had a single point. The Lady Indians were led by Zoey Nelson with five, Gabi Bean had two and Megan Weaver had a single point.
On the boy’s side, Powell Valley and Midway met and the game was a three point one at the half. The Indians pulled away and won the contest, 36-28. Leading Powell Valley was Colby Weaver with 12, Kolton Goins had 10, Braydon Boyd had seven, Hunter Ellison had five and Luke Lloyd had two points. Midway was led by Jeffery Holt with 10, Kaden Williams had five as did Braeden Bennett. Dizel Ford and Gage Ray completed the total with four points each.
