Panthers baseball standout Noah Robertson signs with UVA-WISE

Noah Robertson signed to play baseball with UVA-WISE during a ceremony, February 2, at Cumberland Gap High School. Robertson will be seeking to get a degree in Pre-Vet while continuing to play a sport he deeply loves.

Robertson spoke about why he chose UVA-WISE, “I really liked the location and the small-town feel, and they play in a very competitive conference, the South Atlantic Conference. When you are a little kid, you think college baseball is all about the Division-1 schools, but over time it really began to sink into me that it didn’t have to be a D-1 school.”

Noah’s dad was delighted when chose UVA, “I really liked his decision and he made it in a very mature way. He was determined to make the right decision. He has worked hard, kept his grades up and earned it.”

His mother Cindi also spoke about the decision, “I definitely liked his decision and I am glad he’s going to be so close. It’s so special that he was able to grow as a player with a lot of the same coaches throughout the years. That’s what small town baseball is all about.”

Robertson’s favorite Panther baseball memory is walking off Claiborne in the tenth inning while his worst memory is a 1-17 start at the plate. He wishes to thank Elevation Sports Performance, his parents, grandmothers, Coaches Nate and Wilder, Coach Sziksai, Chris DeSantos, Peyton Wilder and his many teammates throughout the years.

Coach Nate Hatmaker said this about Robertson, “He’s a coach’s dream, great kid and will have a chance to play off the bat. He is a great teammate and a great person.”
