Claiborne versus Greeneville

Claiborne took its basketball teams to Greeneville to battle the Green Devils. During the varsity girls game CHS started slow by only scoring five points during the first period. The Lady Green Devils were on fire from the opening tip. They dropped in 26 points during the opening period and led at the half 36-13. Greeneville then scored 21 and gave up only nine during the third period. Both teams scored two points during the final period and CHS fell by the final score of 59-24. Leading CHS in scoring was Allie Jones with 12, Hannah Fugate had six and three other Lady Bulldogs scored two each including Emma Myatt, Taylor Pressnell and Jordan Fultz. Anna Shaw led Greeneville with 14. Lauren Bailey had 12 and Tambryn Ellenburg had 11.

The Heartland Real Estate Player of the Game was Allie Jones. Congratulations Allie!

The Bulldogs played well against Greeneville. The final score of the game was 63-50. Greeneville led 18-13 after the opening period and led 38-23 at the half. Claiborne came out of the locker room and won the third period 14-9 but during the final period Greeneville got back on track and won the game 63-50. Leading CHS in scoring was Ethan Cupp with 24. Tyler Myatt had nine, Stephen Thomas had seven, Ethan Short had six, Brady Hamlin had three, Vince Bolden, Brennan Fugate and Evan Thomas all had two points. Greeneville was led by Price with 14 and Thompson with 14.

The Danny England Motors Player of the Game was Ethan Cupp. Congratulations Ethan!
