It was a cold and windy evening, March 14, when Cherokee and the Claiborne softball teams took the diamond. Runs were slow to happen during the early innings, but Claiborne got on the board when Jaylen Pressnell hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Emma Myatt. Cherokee did not give up and finally plated the tying run but during the bottom of the sixth inning, Myatt doubled and scored Hannah Fugate and Allie Jones making it 3-1. Myatt finished the game strong in the top of the seventh and the Lady Bulldogs won an important district game to start the season.
