March 30- Cumberland Gap and Union County met on the softball diamond and despite a fast start with two homeruns by Brinkley Hollin and Kerry Dixon the Lady Panthers were down after the Lady Patriots had a six-run third inning. Hollin and Jennabeth Wilburn had multiple hits with two each and Dixon had the other hit for Cumberland Gap.
Dixon started in the circle, throwing three and two-thirds innings. She allowed five hits and struck out seven. Hollin finished the game in relief. Union had 13 hits on the day off Cumberland Gap pitching.
The Walker & Walker Construction Player of the Game was Hollin. She went 2-4 hitting with her first career lead-off homerun plus pitching in relief. Congratulations Brinkley!
