August 24- Cumberland Gap soccer played the Lady Buffs in district soccer yesterday evening and blanked them 9-0. The Zone spoke with Coach Kimbrough before the season, and she was unsure where the scoring would come from. Enter Izzy Helton. The fabulous Freshman scored seven goals and broke the school record for goals in a single game. Adding to those seven goals were Katie Lawson and Kayden Ramsey.
Coach Kimbrough spoke about her young player, “Congratulations to Freshman Izzy Helton, she broke the school record last night for goals in a single game with seven, matching her jersey number. Great things ahead for this gal. Great to get to be a part of her soccer journey for the next 4 years.”
