Shelby Brewer is the daughter of Charles and Tracy Brewer. She recently signed to continue her education and softball career with Alice Lloyd.
Brewer talked about what led her to her decision, “I wanted to attend there even before softball was an option. I liked how small it was and I knew I would be comfortable at a small school.”
Softball began as a summer activity and led her to the continuing her education and pursuit of a Pre-Med degree. She talked about why she started playing softball, “My mom and dad led me to the sport. Mom played when she was in high school and I wanted to try it because of her.”
Looking back Brewer has a lot of coaches that helped her but one stands out and she spoke of that person, “Jeremiah Bean didn’t treat me as just a player, he treated me as his daughter. I would also like to thank all of my family that helped me along the way.”
As with most players who play sports Brewer will miss the people she played alongside, “I will miss all the girls I played with especially the younger ones who looked up to me as a senior for guidance.”
Brewer will now put the gear on and head behind the plate as a catcher for the Eagles.
