A Brent Diaz grand slam later in the seventh gave Biloxi their first lead. In the bottom half, Christopher Morel hit a two-run home run to cut the Smokies deficit to 5-3. Two bases loaded walks in the eighth allowed the Shuckers to add two runs and round out the scoring at 7-3.

Hill finished 2-for-4 with an RBI in the loss. Morel’s two-run home run was his third of the season, he now has a team-high 14 RBI. RHP Ben Leeper did not allow a hit in 1.1 innings in relief.
