Claiborne high School, May 6-

Isaac Moyers, son of Billy and Beth Moyers of Tazewell, signed to further his education and play basketball as a preferred walk on at Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee.

Moyers signed in front of family, friends, teammates, school officials and media during a small celebration in the library of Claiborne High.

When asked why he chose Tusculum Moyers stated, “I really loved the campus and the people. It felt amazing to me and just felt like a great place to further my education.”

He chose Sports Management as his major and that was no surprise to his parents, “Ever since he was five years old he wanted to play college basketball and then move on to coaching or something sports related. We are extremely happy for him and very relieved he chose a local college.”

CHS basketball coach Corey McGinnis also spoke about Moyers, “He’s a hard working kid who battled through injuries and is a good kid in basketball and the classroom. He will be a good fit for Tusculum as their coach seems to be a blue collar, work hard and be disciplined type of coach. He will fit right in there.”

Isaac also talked about his favorite moment as a Bulldog, “I would have to say my favorite moment was as a sophomore when we beat the Gap.”

Moyers would like to thank a few people including his parents and grandparents, family, friends, teammates and coaches including Evan McCoy, Matt Reece and others.
