Greeneville, May 11-
The Claiborne High School Lady Bulldogs softball team has played well as of late and after defeating their rival Cumberland Gap, the team had the daunting task of traveling up to Greeneville, Tennessee to compete in their second round of the District Tournament.
Claiborne was able to manufacture a run early and that’s all they would need as Emma Myatt pitched another shutout gem.
Lillie Cox, Hannah Fugate and Allie Jones recorded hits with Allie Jones having the game winning RBI.
Claiborne’s lone run happened in the first inning and from that moment on the Lady Bulldogs held on due to the work of Myatt in the circle.
Myatt threw a complete game, one hit shutout with two base on balls and four strikeouts.
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Grainger, May 12, with first pitch at 5:30.
