The Lady Bulldogs girls basketball program was stunned to hear that former Lady Bulldogs player and Alice Lloyd Hall of Famer was stepping away from coaching. Nickell announced her decision yesterday leaving many to question why.

When asked about her decision Nickell sent this statement to The Zone, “It honestly was the hardest decision I’ve made. I feel like those girls are my own and I want what is best for them. Unfortunately I did not have enough time in my day to give them what they deserved. My grandpa always told me to leave something better than you left it, if I didn’t leave when I had I wouldn’t be doing that. I love those girls. This was in their best interest.”

CHS has confirmed they are currently searching for a new girls basketball coach. The Zone will have more on the coaching search when Athletic Director Craig Ivey releases a statement.
