Cumberland Gap FFA competes in Norris District Career Development Events

Cumberland Gap FFA took 15 students to compete in the Norris District Career Development Events on Saturday, November 13.

The Conduct of Chapter Meeting Team consists of seven freshman members who complete opening and closing ceremonies and basic parliamentary procedure. This group consists of Kristin Goins, Abby Lane, Kaitlyn Bray, Hannah Treadaway, Shelby Smith, Levi Moore and Tyler Anderson. This team placed first.

The Parliamentary Procedure team consists of six members who complete more advanced parliamentary procedure. This team consists of Madisen Prater, Brianna Goins, Lily Norris, Kara Ramsey, Jarrett Brock and Alex Johnson. Employment Skills is a contest where one student completes a job interview process from resume all the way through the interview and beyond. Kenzie Hatmaker competed in this event and placed first.

Extemporaneous Speaking is a contest where one student draws a topic, writes a speech within 30 minutes and gives it in front of a panel of judges.  Madisen Prater competed in this event and placed second.

Prepared Public Speaking is an event in which a student writes and memorizes a speech and gives it to a panel of judges. Mattie Maiden competed in this event and placed second.

All team members will be moving on to the Sub-Regional level in December and January.
