H.Y. Livesay takes three out of four against SMMS

Soldier’s Memorial Middle School made the trip across the river to do basketball battle with the Eagles. The Lady Blue Devils JV team was the only one who came away with a win.

SMMS led by a single point at the half 10-9 and won 23-19. Leading the Lady Blue Devils in scoring was Emma Ferguson with 14, Jalynn Brooks had five, Tayleigh Stansberry had two and CJ Hatfield along with Lailah Nunn both had a single point. HY was led by Amillya Smith with 10, Allie Owens with seven and Peyton Owens with two points.

The Eagles won the junior varsity boys game 27-3. Leading the Eagles was Koalton Cupp with12, Cason Adams with six, Jacob Tinnel had five and Noah Fultz had four. Eric Ferguson had two for the Blue Devils and Ty Page dropped in a single point.

Next on the floor were the varsity girls and the Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Blue Devils 56-9. They led 51-9 at the half. Leading HY in scoring once again was Brinkley Hollin with 15, Jayla Bailey had 12, Jaylee Hayes had seven. Jenna Middleton had six, Izzy Helton dropped in five, Kelly Hatfield had four, Karlie Johnson had three, Jaelynn Jones along with Abby Peters both had two points. The Lady Blue Devils were led by Emma Ferguson with four, Jossilyn Robbins and Jalynn Brooks both had two and Ily Webb completed the total with one point.

The final game of the night was the varsity boys. HY was playing their second game without head coach Shawn Smith but coach Jerimiah Russell guided the Eagles to a big 54-16 victory. HY led at the half 35-8. Leading the Eagles on this night was Johnny Wilder with 17 points. Brady Harris had 14, Kole Carter had 10, Jed Bailey had five, Lucas Claiborne had three, Neil Bunch also had three and Keaton Clawson had two. SMMS was led by Kaden Lovin with seven, Eric Ferguson had four, Jaxson Mundy had three and Mason Helton had two.
