Coach Shawn Smith provided a quote following the game, “So proud of our kids tonight for finding a way to win in a tough road environment against a good team. This was our fourth road game in seven days and third time we’ve won a game decided by five points or less. Those battles will pay off as we move throughout this season.”
Smith added, “We hit timely shots every time we needed to answer. That’s really encouraging with a young team. We haven’t played our best basketball but we consistently find ways to win. My kids showed a lot of grit and toughness. It was a very emotional night for me returning to Forge Ridge for the first time since I left. I coached and worked with every kid that played tonight. It was good to see friends and people we care so dearly about. That’s a great group of kids that I love and I’m so proud of them for sticking together.”
