Powell Valley wins three of four against SMMS

Soldier’s Memorial Middle School and Powell Valley played basketball, November 15 with SMMS serving as host. First up were the junior varsity girls and SMMS won 14-4. Leading the way for the Lady Blue Devils was Jalynn Brooks with six, Tayleigh Stansberry had four, CJ Hatfield had two as did Lailah Nunn. Gabi Bean scored all four Lady Indians points.

Powell Valley took the win in JV boys action, 29-15. Luke Lloyd had nine for the Indians, Colby Weaver had eight, Korbin Goins dropped in six, Hunter Ellison had four and Kaden Bratcher had two. Leading SMMS was Eric Ferguson with seven, Brayden Grimm along with Mason Helton, Riley Carmack and Colton Brewer each finished with two points.

In varsity girls action, The Lady Indians won 30-6. Brandy Branscomb led Powell Valley in scoring with 12, Zoey Nelson had 10, Mahala Walker had four and Megan Weaver along with McKenna Powers both dropped in two points. SMMS was led by Jossilyn Robbins, Jalynn Brooks and CJ Hatfield all with two points each.

The varsity boys game was won by Powell Valley, 59-28 with Kolton Goins dropping in 24 points. Braydon Boyd had 15, Hunter Ellison and Colby Weaver had six, Gavin Figuera and Luke Lloyd both had four points. Eric Ferguson led SMMS with 12, Kaden Lovin had 11 and Aden Roark had five points.
