Powell Valley tipped it off against Washburn, November 9. The opening contest featured the junior varsity girls teams and it was Washburn taking the win , 11-4. Leading the Lady Pirates on the night was Leah Collins with seven. Cabella Duverney scored two for the Lady Indians and Washburn’s wrong goal score was the other two points.
Up next was the varsity girls game and Washburn took the win 39-6. Leading Washburn in scoring was Hill with 14. The Lady Indians were led by Zoey Nelson with four and Megan Weaver with two.
During the varsity boys contest, the Indians lost a heartbreaker at 31-29. Matthew Harville led the Pirates with nine points. Powell Valley was led by Kolton Goins with 23 points. Goins had a stellar game on the offensive end of the court. Braydon Boyd dropped in four points and Colby Weaver completed the total with two made free throws. The score at the half was 15-14 in favor of Washburn.
