Cumberland Gap wins three of four against Thomas Walker

The first game of four against Thomas Walker, December 7, was the junior varsity girl’s game. Cumberland gap picked up a 61-22 win. Leading the way in scoring was Hayden Beeler with 16. Gracie Nash had 15, Emrey Glover had 12 as did Callie Hoskins. Brynlee Foster completed the total with six. Leading the Lady Pioneers in scoring was Chloe Markum with 10.

The JV boys played next and the Panthers won 43-10. Leading the way in scoring for the Panthers was Kaleb Powers with 10, Braden Painter had 10, Alex Douglas had nine, Noah Yonts had five, Isaac Brown had three as did Ethan Powell, Hudson Harris had two and Andy Osborne finished the total with one point. The Pioneers were led by Tristan Desneux with four.

The varsity girls then tipped it off and the Lady Panthers fell 59-53. Emrey Glover scored 23 to lead the Panthers. Abbie Fultz and twin sister Kylie Fultz both had 11. Brynlee Foster had three, Gracie Nash and Jaden Brock both had two and Hayden Beeler dropped in a single point. Laken Burke had a game high 27 to lead the Lady Pioneers. Patricia Bigge had 18.

The final game was the varsity Panthers versus the varsity Pioneers. 36-35 was the score with the home team getting the one-point win. this one was won in the final seconds from the free throw line when Trace Provins knocked down two free throws. Gavin Owens scored nine, Andy Osborne had seven, Lance Owens had six as did Hyrum Hinckley. Trace Provins had four, Gabriel Peterson had three and Aiden Jackson had a single point. Leading Thomas Walker was Larry Hart with 12 and Zack Kidwell with 10.
