Knights finish fourth in The Battle of the Border Christmas Tournament

Claiborne County’s J. Frank White Academy squared up against teams from three states in The Battle of the Border Christmas Tournament at Lee County High School from December 21-23.

The Knights, led by Coach Dennis Ramsey, defeated rival Thomas Walker in overtime on the first day and finished fourth overall behind Ridgeview High School (VA), Hancock County (TN), and Lee County (VA).

The final game against Lee County was the most memorable, with the two well-matched teams battling hard for third place.  Senior, Jacob Yeary, led the team in points, rebounds, and assists.  He amassed 77 points over the course of three games, scoring 31 points in JFWA’s second game against Ridgeview High School.
