Lady Panthers softball defeats Hancock

Both teams were strong in the pitcher’s circle, April 26, but Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers defeated Hancock County 2-1.

Kerry Dixon allowed just five hits to Hancock County. Dixon led things off on the rubber for Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers. The righthander surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Cayln toed the rubber for Hancock County. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Halle Greene led Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers with two hits in three at bats.

Piper Edwards, sophomore had seven assists at shortstop and was 1-2 at the plate making her the Walker and Walker Construction Player of the Game. Congratulations Piper!
