Lady Panthers win 8-4 over Harlan

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers grabbed an early lead on its way to an 8-4 victory over Harlan Lady Dragons Varsity on Tuesday. Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers scored on a single by Sidney McWilliams and an stolen base by Lily Norris in the second inning.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second McWilliams singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers scored three runs on a stolen base.

Lacey Gulley led things off in the circle for Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers. The righty allowed one hit and one run over one inning, striking out two and walking one.

Thomas toed the rubber for Harlan Lady Dragons Varsity. She surrendered eight runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers tallied one home run on the day. Hayden Beeler had a long ball in the seventh inning.

Kerry Dixon led Cumberland Gap Varsity Panthers with two hits in four at bats.

Jackson went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Harlan Lady Dragons Varsity in hits.

Kerry Dixon was the winning pitcher, gave up three hits over six innings while getting two hits at the plate. For her efforts,  Dixon was named Walker and Walker Construction Player of the Game. Congratulations Kerry!
