Caleb Howard once again has his Blue Battalion out behind CHS practicing for the upcoming football and competition season. Starting his tenth season, Howard is impressed with this group of kids. With a post-covid high of around 70 kids, Howard is focused on the fundamentals, “We are out here right now learning the basics steps, left and right and trying to improve our movements.”
When asked what impresses him most about this group he added, “Our freshmen. They are so eager to learn, to do things right and quickly while conversely our group needs to pay attention to detail and that’s a maturity issue we are trying to work on. It’s going to be a great year.”
Howard was asked about this year’s show and he hinted at a weather theme with some recognizable songs from artists during the 80’s and 90’s time periods. The band takes plenty of water breaks and are doing the best to stay cool during the summertime heat.
Below are a few photos of the Blue Battalion practicing hard for the upcoming season.
