Fund raising car show for Springdale Volunteer Fire Department draws in 181 vehicles

The Springdale Volunteer Fire Department held its annual car show August 20 and it drew in 181 vehicles and hundreds of spectators. It featured big rigs, motorcycles and everything in between.

There were two big awards given out including the Mayor’s Choice Award by Claiborne County Mayor Joe Brooks and the firefighter’s choice award.

Bailey Poore drove in the Mayor’s Choice Award car, a 1960 Chevrolet Impala.

The Firefighter’s Choice went to Donnie Petty in his beautiful Ford truck.

Springdale Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all their sponsors including Ramsey Excavating, The Trophy Store, Sanderella, Bob’s Garage, North American Truck and Equipment, Petty’s Wrecker Service, S&L Auto Repair, Mayor Joe Brooks, Creative Reflections, Gatos Tacos, England Furniture, Jimmy Seals Logging, Karen Hurst County Clerk and Shylock’s Pawn.

Springdale also thanks each and every spectator, worker, Springdale School and of course, those who took time to bring the cars, trucks and motorcycles that make the show such a huge success. The funds raised will go toward the fire station’s yearly expenditures, equipment and more.
