The 2022 Claiborne County Fair closes after a big week of fun

The 2022 Claiborne County Fair closed down late Saturday night after a long week of showcasing Claiborne County through crafts, farm items, motorsports and more.

Monday featured Senior night along with gospel and bluegrass music courtesy of the Straight Off the Ridge Boys.

Tuesday was all about the nearly 80 contestants during the Fairest of the Fair Pageant while the lawnmowers were pulling weight on the Marvin Watkins track. Brianna Goins was the 2022 Miss Fairest of the Fair. The sheep show was also featured in the livestock area.

Wednesday saw the 4-H Poultry Show and Sale plus the ATV / UTV drag racing.

Demolition derby was Thursdays feature event at the motorsport’s venue and on the hill, it was time for local beef producers to show off in the beef show.

Friday began the pulling events with the antique and slow tractor pull and on Saturday the fast tractor and truck pull was the feature event of the night in memory of Marvin Watkins.

In the main exhibit barn, there were all kinds of canning, crafts, knife show, photography, produce, flowers and much more. There were many vendors greeting their customers and selling products from jewelry to Walmart + memberships.

The fair was again a success, and the Claiborne County Fair Association would like to thank K&K Metals for the overall sponsorship, The Big One radio and the many volunteers who made this year’s fair a success. Planning will immediately begin on the 2023 Claiborne Fair.
