Cumberland Gap soccer wins regional semi-final game against Polk, 9-1

Cumberland Gap played host to Polk County, October 18, in regional semi-final girls’ soccer. The Lady Panthers had the edge on paper, and it showed on the pitch as well.

Cumberland Gap shut out Polk during the first half and scored three goals themselves. Polk didn’t score until the second half, but they allowed the Lady Panthers to put six more goals on the board. The final score was 9-1.

It was a stellar night for Aly Ramsey as she added six goals. Carlie Napier had one goal, Brianna Goins had a single goal, and the total was rounded out by Kara Ramsey’s goal. Allyson Brock led her team with three assists, Ramsey had two, Alana Stallworth, Goins, Natalie Johnson and Ramsey each had an assist. Breanna Mason had seven saves. With the win, Cumberland Gap will travel to Loudon Thursday.
