Midway traveled to H.Y. Livesay, November 7 for basketball action. The JV boys were up first, and the Eagles defeated the Red Devils in a close one by the final score of 20-18.
Second on the floor were the two junior varsity girls’ teams. The Lady Eagles won this one 38-11.
The first of two varsity games featured the girls. H.Y. led at the half 21-12 and the Lady Eagles kept scoring during the second half and won the game 42-15. Leading the Lady Eagles was Allie Owens with 13 points. Abby Peters had eight, Amillya Smith had seven, Kelly Hatfield had six, Karlie Johnson had four, Izzy Helton and Ava Fuson had two each. Midway was led in scoring by Gracie Bolden with nine and Jadyn Meyers had seven.
The Volunteer Golf Carts Player of the Game was Allie Owens with 13 points. Congratulations Allie!
The final game featured the varsity boys. The Eagles scored early and often and at the half led 33-7. H.Y. showed their strength during the second half as well and got the win by the final score of 55-18. Leading the Eagles in scoring was Brady Harris with 19. Preston Zachary had eight, Eli Reed and Jacob Tinnel both had six, Kole Carter had five, Lucas Horsley had four, Keaton Clawson had three, Koalton Cupp had two along with Neil Bunch had two points. Brayson Cook had one point. The Red Devils were led by Braden Bennett with 11. Samuel Wilson had three, Lane Epperson had two and Landan Barnard along with Aayden Bailey both scored one.
The Volunteer Golf Carts Player of the game was earned by Brady Harris with 19 points. Congratulations Brady!
