There are a few changes coming to Claiborne Youth Football Conference and cheer teams this upcoming season. Due to the school board asking the league to stop using the Bulldogs name and logo for legal reasons, the league has changed its name to Tazewell Youth Football and Cheer.
Wesley Nance is the new Director of Football, and he offered this statement about the league, “The school board asked us to change our mascot from the Bulldogs for legal reasons, but we just wanted to get the information out to the community that it’s not a new league, just a new mascot and we will still be playing all home games at R.O. Giles field beside Soldier’s Memorial Middle School.”
The new mascot is a Timberwolf, and the teams will be known as Timberwolves. Below is what the new logo will look like.
