Blue Devils and Indians split wins in boys basketball

November 14- Soldier’s Memorial Middle School hosted Powell Valley in basketball and the two boys’ teams split with the Blue Devils getting the junior varsity win and the Indians winning the varsity game.
During the junior varsity game, Trevaur Taylor led SMMS with eight points on the way to a 23-9 win. Jacob Goodin had seven as did Braxton Lovin. Noah Chumley rounded out the scoring with two. Powell Valley was led by Casen Bolinger with three, and three others scored two each including Kylix Hatfield, David Hill and Charlie Southern.
The Indians won big in varsity play, 50-16. Colby Weaver had 15, Braden Lane had 10, Jacob Tinnel had nine, Luke Lloyd had six, Hunter Ellison had three, Garrett Graves and Korbin Goins had two points each. Ty Page led SMMS with seven, Eric Ferguson had six, Trevaur Taylor had two and Cory Mills finished with one point.
