First Century Bank Enhances Partnership with Claiborne County Sports Zone

The Zone is very pleased to announce that First Century Bank has extended and upgraded their marketing partnership. As the public very well knows, the Zone is very often providing live streams at sporting events, car shows, benefits, the annual Claiborne County Fair and lots more through our Facebook page. The Zone can now officially name FCB as the official communications provider for these live streams.

First Century Bank was founded in 1894. Claiborne National Bank was established in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee in the town of Tazewell. The bank’s first president, George Montgomery, a Claiborne County native, lead the bank to prosperity. In 1919, during the bank’s 20-year anniversary, the name was changed to Claiborne County Bank, which remained the name until the late 1980’s when Chairman Glenn Yoakum decided to expand the bank into Hancock and Union Counties. The bank was no longer a one county bank, and as a result, the name was changed to First Claiborne Bank. However, in 1999, the bank celebrated a “Century of Service,” and to honor that achievement the bank’s name was changed to First Century Bank.

First Century is a full-service bank encompassing the residential needs, business needs and the needs of the investor. They have branches in Tazewell, New Tazewell, Harrogate, Maynardville, Emory Road, Sneedville, Market Street and Maryville. Claiborne County Sports Zone thanks First Century Bank for continuing their partnership in such a dedicated manner. Their involvement as official communications provider allows us to keep and maintain two different services for our live streams. The Zone thanks everyone at FCB for their continued support for our mission of recognizing the efforts of our students, athletes and community. – Allen Earl
