January 6- The JV Panthers took down the Grizzlies, 61-54 led by Luke Lloyd with 19 points and Korbin Goins had 18 points. Brayden Lane also had double-figures with 12. Colby Weaver had six, Hunter Ellison had four and Nate Bain dropped in two points. Liam Moore had 24 for Grainger and Dalton Farrow had 20.
Next on the floor were the Lady Panthers and Lady Grizz in the varsity battle. Grainger won this one 68-46. Addison Hayes dropped in 27 to lead the Lady Grizzlies and Briley Caldwell had 16. Jayla Bailey led the Lady Panthers with 15, Jenna Middleton had 10, Kelly Hatfield had six along with Natalee Davis. Allie Owens had three, Peyton Owens had two along with Briley Colinger. Audrey Turpin and Cabella Duverney both had a single point.
The varsity boys’ game was a close one. Cumberland battled but fell 67-63. Kade Williams had 21 for the Grizz, Jackson Trent and Parker Creswell both dropped in 12 each, and two others finished with double-figures, Coy Morgan and Carver Turley. Brady Harris led the Panthers with 26 and Keaton Clawson had 16. Gabriel Daniels had nine, Neil Bunch had seven and Kolton Goins had five. Cumberland Gap will quickly put this one behind them as rival Claiborne arrives in the Gap this Friday.
