On March 23, the Claiborne Athletics baseball team took the field just as the softball game wrapped up across the parking lot at Claiborne High. The chilly day felt even colder with a brisk wind blowing from the northwest. Cocke County seemed headed for a win until the Athletics found their rhythm late, scoring three runs to take the lead.
