The Zone (claibornecountysportszone.com) along with former Claiborne High School boys’ basketball coach Michael Brooks have joined forces to provide Claiborne County a much-needed resource to honor our great athletes, teams and racing drivers.
The Claiborne County Sports Hall of Fame will begin as a virtual feature on The Zone website with the hopes of growing into a physical location. Our goal is simple, to provide a means to honor those great athletes both past and present; to ensure his or her athletic accomplishments will forever be remembered.
Submissions by sports fans or former coaches will be accepted and then sent to a selected committee for a vote. No more than four athletes each year will be inducted. Submissions will have to include basic information about the Claiborne County athlete or team and if available some statistics for verification purposes. If no stats are available, a few quotes by coaches and former players will be needed. Photos are a must!
