The Claiborne Lady Bulldogs varsity team got a victory on the road versus Hancock, January 16. The final score was 70-29. Claiborne was on fire right from the tip as they scored 26 to open the game. Defensively, Claiborne only allowed 11 points. Emma Myatt hit one three-pointer and Allie Jones knocked down three in the opening period. An 18-5 second period was spurred on by Jones and Hannah Fugate. The Lady Bulldogs led at the half 44-16. The third period was 15-7 also in favor of Claiborne and the final period was as well 11-6. Jones, Myatt, Addie Brooks and Taylor Pressnell all knocked down three-pointers during the second half. The final score was 70-29. Leading Claiborne in scoring was Jones with 25. Fugate had nine, Myatt and Pressnell finished with eight, Jordan Fultz had six, Ily Bussell had five, Brooks had three, Genesis Bailey along with Avalynn Cook and Carlie Laprade had two points each. Hancock was led in scoring by Calyn Seals and Jade Combs with six. Kylie Jarnigan had five, Kylee Bailey and Kenna Bailey both had three. Reagan Collins, Cylee Seal and Madeline Dalton each had two points.
